On the 4th of July, it was hot and we were tired. In other words, it was the perfect day for a mindless summer blockbuster. We decided to go see “Transformers”. Trust me. This is not the worst movie you’ve ever seen before. It made us laugh and it had great special effects. It did have a lot of gratuitous cleavage, but of the two main women characters one was a computer wiz and the other was skilled enough to be a car mechanic. I must admit, though, that I loved the Tranformers cartoons and toys when I was a kid. So, my review is slightly biased. But, as far as summer blockbusters go, I don’t have too much interest in the new Die Hard (though I would see it) and the new Bourne movie isn’t out yet. The Tranformers movie won’t win any Oscars, but it was a lot fun to watch.

So it was more than meets the eye?
Well, for much the same reasons (and I had just left a meeting where the client asked if we could add some more text to a web page to explain something that was already in the existing text on the page in case they didn't read it...!) I saw Die Hard the other day. It was what we expect from a Die Hard movie (no cleavage, though...) and it will also not win any Oscars, but lots of stuff gets blowed up real good!
Steve and I saw Ratatoullie, and even though I can't spell it, I liked it very, very much. No cleavage, but there was a cleaver. Koji's Kitchen should see it.
All of these movies sound very fun! Maybe I'll drag my antisocial spouse to the theater on of these days.
You do have to see the rat movie. Not only for the cooking, but because it's about creation - Portrait of an Artist as a Rat, the NY Times called it.
We haven't seen Ratatoullie yet, but want too! We saw the previous a few months back at another movie and it looked great. Some animation looks appealing, like this one, and others, like Cars doesn't peak my interest at all.
