Friends and Falls

We finally got off our sick butts and got out of the house this weekend. We are actually feeling a bit better. Anyway, we took a trip up to Portland to see some old friends. We had a great time. We drove out to see the beginning of the Columbia River Gorge and some very pretty waterfalls along the way. The picture below on the left is of Multnomah Falls. It is the tallest waterfall in Oregon and the state's most visited scenic site. It was actually quite crowded, for Oregon, that is. We also stopped at a few other waterfalls. Oregon is a beautiful place! The top picture on the right is of the Vista House at Crown Point, which is an interpretive center built in 1916. It sits on a cliff over 700 feet above the Columbia River. The bottom picture on the right is part of the view from Vista House. The Columbia River Gorge is an incredible testament to the power of flowing water! After returning from the Gorge we had a fabulous sushi dinner in Portland. It was the best sushi that we've had in over two years of living in Oregon. It was very nearly "Osaka"-like in quality. So, we had a great day all around!!
