After:

So Sara is just not very good at sitting still. So, unexpectedly, we got another little bit of our landscaping work done. This time it happened in the backyard. We had an ill defined border between where our grass stopped and where the wetlands began. That white vinyl fence wasn't doing too much for us, either. Anyway, spring got the wetlands encroaching into our backyard. Sara dug out a strip of lawn. We hauled it off to our favorite landscaping-type business, Lane Forest Products. This place is great. We dumped our unwanted grass and dirt there for $5. Then we picked up a strong quarter yard of 3/4" round river rock for only $4.50. We spread the rock across the backyard and voila. Now we have a border that will hopefully help to keep the weeds out. It also makes it easier to mow our grass as well. Unfortunately, our new boarder doesn't repel birds. However, I must say that to date we are getting along quite nicely with all the wetland birds. Not a single incident. It's been quite harmonious. Imagine that!

It looks very nice, but now you've armed the birds with rocks!
Clearly you and This Land got the same perpetual-motion gene. As for me, all I did this weekend was transplant some of the crazy nasturtiums that were taking over the garden, trim the bamboo, mow the yard, edge, fertilize the bamboo and roses.
I'm clearly the slacker.
Glad you finally realized!
