Front Yard Project




So, our first real house project is now complete! We had a great weekend putting in a new planter bed along the front walk up to the house. If you'd like to see all the pictures of the project, then please go here:

    That sure looks nice! It adds so much visual interest. Dare I say it - curb appeal! I love the angles. Good work!

    Astilbe. Oh my. You have a weird brother, and brother-in-law. I like plants and flowers, as you know, and I like to learn the names of plants that catch my eye. (I'm a lot like Dave in that way. As I recall from a Cranium game, Dave is a whiz with plant identification.)

    I digress. So,when Steve and I are walking past plantings, I sometimes say something like, "That's nice. I think it's vinca." (or whatever.) And he'll say, "It's astilbe."

    Everytime he says, "It's astilbe," because, of course, he's convinced all humor is based on repetition.

    He says astilbe is a type a flower, one that he once planted.

    I guess if an astilbe is a flower, then a flower is an astilbe, right?

    Oh, the fun we have here in Avery.
