Birdhouses, new settings, wind power, & a belated bull!

Okay, the title is not some clever story about related things. I figured since we have been posting about once a month, I just needed to list out everything that is new! So, we are now the proud owners of a really cool birdhouse! If you know Dave or have read the posts, you may be aware of his fear of birds ... but, if he were here to tell the story, he'd say it was of large birds. Friends of ours from grad school got it and our fun birdhouse is cool with Dave because it is for small birds. Plus, it has this blue color in it that we already had plans to incorporate into our patio expansion project! So, clearly, it is the birdhouse for us!

Next is a new project for Dave at work. His company has just signed on to build in a development in Springfield. For those of you familiar with the area, it is about 3 minutes past the intersection of Main St. and 126. There are already homes built in a lower area and there is a park and some trails as part of the community. Here are some pics from the sites that they will build on. It is pretty cool!

I've got no picture for this, but it's pretty cool so I thought I'd share. We watched Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" a few months ago. Like Koji's Kitchen, we wanted to do more. We've replaced our six outside and garage lights with compact fluorescent. Our house is new, so it is very energy efficient and so are our appliances. Last month, we switched our electricity service to wind power. Because it is just the two of us our bills are small we switched to 100% wind power. With the new bulbs our usage went down a bit ... and with the increased cost of going to wind power, our bill went up $3.00!

Also, last month when we posted it was all about Dave's bull riding. But, since Blogger wasn't loading pics - it was sort of a leap of faith on your part. Without proof, did you think it wasn't true? Since he was born and raised about as far away from bulls and all things western, I wouldn't blame you for questioning it! But, here is our proof!

I didn't know there was anything so pretty in Springfield. That should be a nice development. How many houses is he going to build? Will RM be able to afford one?

Also, as far as the bird house goes, it looks like a square bulls-eye to me. With Dave's recent wild-west conversion (including demanding firearms), are you sure he's not planning on a little birdie-target-practice?

Sadly, the house prices are probably going to be $500+ ... outta all of our leagues! The are doing a model and he also bought 5 other lots. The developer wanted him to buy more, but this will be the first time he will be building in Springfield at this price. I agree, I was sorta surprised by how pretty it was up there! The development is called Mountain Gate ... you probably have seen it on your way out to Nancy's & Joe's. It doesn't look like much from Main Street, but once you get up the hill it is pretty.

As for Dave's birdie target practice, it is always possible! The birds have been heading back south. If you are outside, it can be loud. The other thing we have right now is a lot of ribbitting frogs! I don't know if ours have legs like Chuck Norris - but they sure can make a lot of noise! I cannot help but laugh though!
