So, I have found out from talking to my sister and brother that we have a super packing gene. Don't know who we got it from. And we all discovered it in adulthood after we stopped living together. But, it certainly comes in handy. In the six years that Dave and I have been together we are getting packed up for out fifth move. I packed a few boxes last weekend, but it was still 2.5 wks till the move so I didn't do much. This weekend I got the bulk of the "things" packed up. Our pictures are off of the wall, our knick-knacks are packed up, and the apartment is going back to the anonymous white walls. In many ways this move is going to be "easy." We still have to lift and carry every single thing we own, but we have four days and the use of Dave's work box truck. We are used to a rental trunk on a tight deadline and less than six hours to make it happen. This seems like a vacation in comparison. I'm planning to take Wed before Thanksgiving off of work to let service people in to turn on various necessary services. I am going to set up the kitchen and in my spare time steam clean our carpets. They are only 1 yr. old but with Dave's alergies we figured it would be a good to try to clean them every six months. Don't mark your calendars in case our schedule gets off! Then on Thanksgiving we are planning to move the rest of our boxes and most of the furniture. We know that some neighbors will give us strange looks to be moving. But really, are we going to want to cook a big meal in our apt? Who really said the bird had to be eaten on Thurs? Why not Friday?! Nice people have been offering up their moving services. I don't think we will need them for most stuff, but on Sat. we might take someone up on getting the last of the heaviest stuff. Then it will be a matter of unpacking and getting settled. Oh, and doing the final cleaning on the apt. Then it will be official. We will be home owners! And on Dec. 1st we will have been in OR for 1 year!

Wow, it FLEW by, this past year... congratulations on everything & I hope this is the easiest, smoothest move yet!
I say shoot for a six-hour move anyway, then spend the time unpacking and doing the Happy Dance in your new house!
Yes, and don't forget to inaugurate everything...
Preferably not WHILE you're eating turkey.
Inaugurate with Turkey... no.
But with pumkin pie... now your talkin. -d
Edward David?? What happend to Next Stop Oregon?
Edward David's okay I guess. Kinda boring, like a name (like sonnjea b) or something.
Blogger just changed their log ins and stuff. We now have to log in each time. I think that is where the WASPy - Edward David came in. Cracker!
Oh, by the way .... lalalalala!
Can always call him E.D. for short. (And I hear there are pills for that now...)
Yeah, I don't think Edward David quite grasps the magnitude of his "inaugurate with pumpkin pie" faux pas...
The new blogger thing that is linked with my gmail is a little annoying, especially since i don't know how to change where it says "Edward David"...
ED is natural and eventually happens to every guy, right??? I didn't need pills to get rid of it though. i just had to stop thinking about birds...
I don't speak french, so what's wrong with pumkin pie???
But it's inaugurating! There shouldn't be pie involved!
It was funny in American Pie...
Did I mention my family is weird?!
